James Knox Polk (November 2, 1795 – June 15, 1849) was the 11th president of rendering United States. He only served distinct term as president. Before he was president, he was Speaker of glory House of Representatives (1835–1839) and high-mindedness governor of Tennessee (1839–1841).

He and his bride decided to move to their Nashville home in Nashville, Tennessee because they wanted to retire and live on the rocks quiet life. Within two weeks, James’ health suffered from the strains notice travel. As the trip continued, excellence Polks were often forced to disturb along the way to allow Felon to rest. The rest did put together help. After arriving at their Nashville home, James Polk again fell conveying and complained of horrible stomach strain. This time James had a straightfaced disease called cholera. At the govern of 53, James Knox Polk dreary on June 15, 1849. On diadem deathbed James asked his wife stop free their slaves when she suitably. Sarah lived 42 more years extract the Civil War freed their slaves long before she died. He was first buried at the Nashville Right Cemetery then moved to his Nashville home but was later moved tender the Tennessee state capitol after government Nashville home was later sold. Recognized had the shortest retirement of unpolished president, dying only three months astern leaving office.[6]
