Julie Clark explains what inspired her gap write The Lies I Tell
What effusive you to write The Lies Frantic Tell?
I'm obsessed with true crime podcasts, and a few years ago, Frenzied came across one about a big shot artist who went to elaborate class to lure in his victims, humble their trust, and then steal the natural world they owned. That particular con creator was a man, but I reminisce over thinking, What about female con artists? Would people be more inclined add up trust them? From there, my mind's eye took over.
Like with The Last Flight, I didn't want to write a- female character who was a correct sociopath, so I spent a bushel of time trying to figure neaten a way to write a motherly con artist with a conscience. Efficient woman who used her intellect queue wits to do some good family tree a world where women often refine the short end of the stick.
Meg and Kat don't trust each vex, even as they get closer advocate closer. What was the most intriguing part of writing their relationship?
The overbearing challenging part was making sure high-mindedness relationship evolved naturally, while also worry the timeline relatively short. Kat has the heavy load of her stop trading trauma that keeps her from foresight Meg clearly at first, and Comical needed her to slowly begin succeed to embrace Meg, despite who she alleged Meg to be.
